It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Moses Nivethan, one of our former educators at SAMBAL Technology Lab, who left this world far too soon. We extend our deepest condolences to his sister Angelin Nivethika, his parents, family, and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A heartfelt thank you to Bhavani for generously sponsoring the educational and fun field trip for our SAMBAL Technology Lab students, who are currently studying in Grades 6–10. Their first stop was the University of Jaffna, where dedicated staff members voluntarily took time out of their weekend to guide the students.
It has been four months since the opening of the SAMBAL Technology Lab in Suruvil, and it's wonderful to see the children engaging with the practical side of science — building with STEM games, exploring robotics including a solar-operated robot, and gaining a deeper understanding of science through hands-on experiments.

A month of fun and learning with science experiments, computer skills building, and educational games at Suruvil SAMBAL Technology Lab.
This weekend's experiments featured "Soda Pop in a Balloon" and "Make a Simple Thermometer." The feedback from the children has been enthusiastic — these hands-on activities are truly the highlight of their classes. The science instructor is doing a fantastic job explaining the theory behind each experiment.

It's incredibly rewarding to see our Sambal Technology Lab in Suruvil gaining momentum with interest from the local children. This time, our focus is on STEM, and the children are engaging in science labs to bring theory to life through hands-on experience. This week, the subject was the digestive system.
SAMBAL Technology Lab is a Partnership Project between Saverimuthu Family Foundation and SAMBAL. The lab was developed to overcome the "digital divide" — the discrepancy between underprivileged and privileged children's access to educational technology.
We began funding a new project in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. A group of nuns were looking to renovate a convent that had been bombed in the war in order to house 30 young girls from the Internally Displaced Persons camps. All of the girls had finished their secondary education and were waiting to begin either university or vocational training. The house would be a safe haven to continue their education and protect them from being trafficked.
After School Tutoring Program in Bangladesh, India. The Sunderban Project provides academic support and educational resources to children in rural communities who lack access to quality after-school programming.
SAMBAL contributed solar panel lighting to the Sillalai Children's Home. This contribution was made possible by generous donations and a discounted price given by Lions Club member D.A.G. Lakshman Jayasuriya, the Managing Director of Alpha Solar Energy Systems (Pvt) Ltd. The project was coordinated and executed by Inner Colombo Lions Club President Emmanuel Joseph, and the panels were installed by Fr. Jeyakumar of HUDEC. The new solar panel lighting enables the children to progress with their studies despite frequent power cuts in the area.
Every project starts with a donation. Help us fund our next initiative to change children's lives.
